I have pitch on the hood and windshield of my new car, and I need to know what will safely and effectivly take it off. Thanks

WD-40 is the way to go

Don't scratch it off with anything, Hot soapy water is the best thing. It is a water soulable substance and can only be removed with water and a water soulable cleaner or soap. You may want to use a mild surface polish to polish the area after you remove the substance.

WD-40 spray it on , let it soften the pitch, gently wipe off, apply car polish and wax.

tar and road oil remover--sold by the ca at wal marts everywhere--works great and is safe for the finish.several different makers of the stuff-they are all basically the same-let it soak about 30 seconds the rub off--no razor blades....

Semi dull razor blade and non clorinated brake cleaner. Fiance uses it every day to clean off cars.

Mayonaise works really great on skin, and it would do anything to glass. Hope it helps

I have found that "elbow grease" works the best.
