The problem is if you inhale it. That can damage your lungs

You would need to have a lot of shrapnel enter your body. But if you are not wearing a mask and are inhaling the dust from sanding that can be bad.

Fibreglas shards can travel around in your body. They will stay in your body for YEARS and some will eventually poke out of your skin, so avoid them---- WEAR GLOVES.
Also, don't grind fibreglas without a mask AND gloves on.

Gore do any of you actually work with the stuff ?????
Take BASIC preventive measures, wear work gloves, dust mask if cutting etc.

If you are grinding or sanding, that will present a danger also.
