I used ortho tri-cyclen lo but I'm also a woman of color, so the sun is not an issue for me, but it does warn about the sun. To be safe just use a sunscreen

Yes. You must avoid the sun and cover up and use sunscreen. Birth control pills make a person very sun-sensitive. I have tan and brown blotches that will never go away now.
