So my husband just called to say he was going to his friend's house after work. Before he had a chance to tell me that I told him that I hadn't eaten dinner yet, but that I would make something before he came home & we could eat together. After I told him, he told me that he was going to his friend's house & would probably be home around midnight. Now this is fine with me, but I'd like to eat dinner before that so I said "I'm not gonna wait to eat, but I'll save you some." (Not even a hint of attitude) After I said that he tells me that he isn't going to his friend's house anymore. This is a time span of about 30 seconds from when he called. Who can figure this out? He thinks I don't want him to go, so he thinks that I'll be happy if he says nevermind, but in reality that does not make me happy: it annoys me. If he was to go out, he should go. I don't want him changing his plans & then blaming it on me. Then I look like a jerk when he tells his friend that he isn't coming over anymore.

He didn't change his plans because of dinner, but because he thought I was mad. He was trying to get me to say, "No, go to your friends house. I want you to go." I think that is dumb. I'm not going to tell him that I want him to go to his friends house because he is trying to play some stupid mind game.
