I need a quiet but powerful fan for cooling my computer (specifically for cooling the motherboard - attached to the case). What is it that I look for when buying a new fan? Amps? Wattage? Brand? Help!

I'm looking specifically for an 80x80x25 mm fan - and have no clue how to determine air flow properties. What would be a good air flow vs. poor air flow?
Thanks.

Bearing type? Brushless? Sleeve? Bearing type?

It all depends on how quiet you want to get and how cool you want to get, the basic information is what you want to look for is (db) the lower the decibels the quieter it will be, also the voltage that goes to the fan can make a difference, A good voltage controller works good and its about the best fix for a noisy fan because its cheap and simple to fit, to see what I mean have a look here http://www.frozencpu.com/bus-08.html
But if you are just after a fan the good makes of fans are AcoustiFan, Sanyo Denki and my favourite cooling solution makers Zalman have a look here for some quiet fans http://www.frozencpu.com/
If you want ultra quiet and ultra cool then have a look at water cooling, It's a lot easier then it sounds, so have a look at this link,

The brand of fan doesn't really matter, but the size and voltage and amperage does. You probably need to take your cpu to a computer store and allow the technicians there to help you select the correct fan so you'll be more likely to get the correct one. There are many different brands and sizes on the market but if you don't know what you are doing you could get yourself into a real mess.

Go with what Shy said above... You dont need to take your cpu to a computer tech!
Dont worry about bearings or it being brushless... just worry about Airflow rates (higher the better) and Decible levels (lower the better; quieter) Fans are cheap and are easily replaced. Google 80mm case fan and youll get all kinds of options.

Voltage is the key to the right fan, If you are looking for quiet you will pay a little extra, look for a dual bearing unit.

It doesnt matter. I would go for size. And be smart about where you put the fan. I say size because different chassies (cases) are different sizes. So if your chassy is quite small you dont want a monstorus sized fan.

check eBay, you can get a lot of good deals there, look for case fan, points to remember are air flow( higher the better) and decibel (amount of nose, lower the better)
try this http://search.ebay.com/case-fan_W0QQfromZR9QQfromZR9QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQsspagenameZSTRKQ3aMEFSRCHQ3aSRCH
