NO WAY! Race does sometimes get in the way even if you do everything in the world to not let it. Love Rules!!! Go with how you feel. It may be difficult sometimes but look at all the lovers that have shaped our society. What if they said forget it because of peer pressure?

No race should not mean anything
It should be how his personality and his Heart is
Since you do come from very different back grounds you really need to talk to Your parents
Even some one older in the family about this

Race shouldn't be a problem. America is all about FREEDOM and NOT predejuce (and ya, i cant spell). If you like him, keep liking him...I mean, if race was a big deal then we wouldn't have such a large variety of ethnicities in the world. Follow your heart-and as lame as that sounds...it simply means to do what you feel is right.

As I answered in another question similar to this one...

I think its beautiful when people can express their feelings and not bow to the status que placed on us by society. People forget the culture of America and so it seems, there isn't what they would describe a "problem" with this situation, They choose not to address it, well the "problem" is people being color blind, to the specifics of the word, BLIND TO THE COLORS AROUND YOU. They are unwilling to accept them and hence they are not there or you are blind to them. I don't believe in color blindness, its ignorance, it needs to change, be aware of the wondrous variety around you and accept it. I Think its extremely interesting to learn about other people's ways of life. I think its really sad that people of any race can simply 'dis' others because they are of any color.

It's a personal choice, if you don't want the added stress from ur parents disapproval then let it go, but if he's worth upsetting them over go for it. Of course you could always talk to your parents about it too, u said you're not sure how they would feel so until you have all the facts i wouldn't stess over it so much

Better to try than to always regret not trying. I know about being Indian and not being accepted My cousin lives there and was with a girl who converted to chrisitanity and they beat her senseless so I can see your trepidation. If it's true love it's worth it. Research his culture also so you don't offend and the melding of cultures might be a difficult thing don't expect him to automatically know your culture. I reccomend you rent the movie MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING.

No, you like who you like. Who can explain chemistry between a man and a woman.
