Bill gate's job is to envision ideas on dekstop and online computing and find the right way and the right person's to implement them. He has to foresee the technology trends and be the first one to implement them. Sometimes he doesn't have to foresee at all. Sometimes in such a context you literally build people's needs, you inject ideas to the market and then you implement them. It is really hard to describe what these people do in a few lines of text. And yes, money comes when you can build ideas and support them in lots of different ways. And if he didn't do it.... well then you wouldn't be asking this question and I wouldn't be answering it.

sorry this may be off topic, but for some reason I dislike mircosoft customer service hotlines, made me wait for 30 mins and realise none is serving me. The AI prompt me if I dun wanna wait, i have to press 1 and leave a voicemail and they will reply me within 2 hrs =/ been 10 hours already and the same thing still happends. Bill Gates as far as I know is Chairman of the Microsoft company. He used to be President as well. He also is a member of the board of directors of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
Would he get paid? Well since he own much of Microsoft he would be paid by the growth and revenue of the company due to him owning shares.
