I started losing my periods when I exercised a lot I was running 10 kilometres 5 days a week I was eating like a horse. I would go to a doctor though just to confirm there is no other reason for the period loss.

I know this one.. It's the eating. It is NOT the exercise thing, honey. I starved myself and lost my period. (I am hoping that is not the case w/you.) I am 53/F and I am assuming here you are a spring chicken, ha. (INo periods here, but I know why, huh? lol) What kinda stuff do you eat, then? I'm guessing your exercise is taking more calories than you realize. I don't like looking personally at those 'ideal weight' charts (nor weighing myself.) I am a veg'tn. marathon runner.. I lift weights too. I eat/need a TON of calories a day to maintain my (I'm 5-3) l20 pounds.. I don't go by weight tho.. that's superficial. I have muscle (it weighs more than fat.) I know my body. (hey, am I going overboard a bit?) If I knew what you did eat I could help you more (you need to find out tho about losing the period.. do it long enough the fact you are eating so poorly'll screw your body up worse, honey.) g'luck.... later melancholia

You probably don't weigh enough for your body to believe you are grown enough for periods. Usually when girls reach a certain weight periods kick in. Athletes don't have periods much because they exercise and don't eat alot. You didn't say what you weigh or your height. Maybe go to the doctor and get checked out first to be sure your hormones aren't messed up and/or a thyroid test, underactive thyroid problems can stop periods too.

This may be a sign of something more serious, I would highly recommend that you seek medical attention via a gynecologist soon. The body needs a certain amount of body fat to bear children, therefore, also a certain amount of body fat to have a menses. Also, sometimes a pregnancy test is taken too early, so just because it was negative, does not mean you are not pregnant.
Most importantly, you need to see a doctor. There are too many open questions.
Best of luck.

It's possible that you don't weigh enough for your body to sustain a period. Dieting and exercising too much can cause your period to stop. Check with your doctor to find out what is a healthy weight for you, and to come up with a plan for how to maintain it.

It sounds like you are burning more calories than you take in. That can stop you from having your period (it's called amenorrhea and can be common in female athletes).
You should definitely be careful, eating too few calories or working out too much is actually not good for your body. Eat healthy, balanced meals, and be sure to get enough dairy and protein.
Good luck!

You should see a doctor. They can prescribe for you to get a blood test done to check your hormones.
