1000 is 10 x 10 x 10. Move the decimal point one place to the right for each 10 multiplier. That gives you 8100.

8.1 * 1000

first of all, u multiply 8.1 * 10, the decimal point will move the the right for one place...u will get an ans 81

later u will know 8.1 * 100, the decimal point moves to the right for two places. fill the empty space after 1 with a "zero"..will get 810

so 8.1 * 1000, the decimal point moves three places, and get 8100...

therefore, in conclusion, with decimals, u just need to move the decimal points to the right with the number of zeros follow by the "1"

when you multiply a number times anything with a 1 and then 0's at the end you count the 0s and then move the decimal place that many to the right so...

1000 has three 0s
so take 8.1 move it
1 space 81
2 spaces 810
3 spaces 8100

if you don't have any numbers after the.1 you add the zeros at the end. because in decimal it doesn't matter how may 0s are at the very end because it will still be the same number check ya later ♥

Move the decimal three places to the right (one place for every 0 in 1000). Write it down on a piece of paper and look at it.

8.1-> 81 -> 810-> 8100
_____ 1____ 2____ 3

yes. Whenever multiplying a number by 10, simply move the decimal to the right and insert a zero if necessary.
