Heck yeah they should! Not only do most not have to, but they also get money from the government. I live by several reservations and some of the stuff that goes on with them irritates the heck out of me. I can see how what happened to the indians in the past was wrong, but it wasn't me who did it and it wasn't the ones alive today or even their parents who it happened to, so why should I have to pay them (through my taxes)? It sucks!

NO!! If they live on the res. Maybe yes if the live off the res. I think that all of the "forieners" (non-native americans) who live off the government hand-outs, should have to pay back some ammount of what they get for setting at home doing nothing. If anyone in this country deserves to pull the poor pitiful me card it is native americans! Not the rest of the transplants that do it, and are getting a lot better deal than the native americans!!

If they are taking advantage of federal programs then I would say yes but if they are self sufficient and make their money from their own lands I say no. If they have a regular job and are using the federal highways to get to work then yes .. that's what I meant by federal programs. If everything is kept on the reservation then they should not be subject to federal taxes, we owe them that much for what has happened to their ancestors.

The ones who live on the Reservations don't pay federal tax. They are concidered a separate jurisdiction, but mostly they are so poor they qualify for aid. Natives who live in off the rez pay all the same taxes that everyone pays.

yes.

It is no longer 'their land'. Look at the entire world. Virtually every country has been taken over at one time or another. Should the British Americans not have to pay taxes either? Shoud the Mexican American's in Texas not have to pay taxes either?

Everyone who lives in the United States should pay taxes, period. We have to keep our personal opinions of past mistakes made by people who are no longer here out of our decision. If you live here, you should pay taxes the same as every other person does.
