being confined on the plane, there isn't a whole lot you can do. On my long flights, I prefer to sit on isle seat and walk around every hour or so. It is very important because sitting in a cramped position for a long time can cause a blood clot in your leg. When the clot get pushed into the brain after you get off the plane, well, bye bye.

I found the movies on the plane quite enjoyable (well, since you are forced to watch them). Taking along a mp3 player and a book also fills the time. When I was in school, I usually would start writing some programs in the middle of the flight but it only would last 2-3 hours because of the limited power for laptop, if you can carry a backup battery supply, it would be nice too.

Puzzles and crosswords are also a great way to fill the time. However, please be considerate to the person next to you.

14 hour flight.

1. Bring a good book to read.
2. Go buy an mp3 player and load it up with some good music.
3. Go buy a Sony PSP hand-held video game unit/ or the Nintendo DS.
4. Buy some over the counter sleeping aid and sleep a good 7-8 hours.

Well that's a long plane ride. You could like read a book, listen to music, watch movies, sleep of course, etc. There are a lot of things you could do on a plane. Even more if you are flying with someone else...then you can talk with them and what not.

books, magazines, watch the movie, take a gameboy, journal,
read a travel book about where you're going, take a laptop and write e-mails that you can save and send when you get to a dsl line. take a puzzle book-crosswords mazes,...i like to take things that i can throw away so i can travel light.

take tylenol p.m. so you can sleep and take a travel pillow-unless you're going first class- on a long flight like that a travel pillow will make you much more comfortable, you can find inflatable ones at target for less than $10 in the luggage section.

happy traveling.
