If you really want to know, here's what I think about it.
Hell is a place where you are separate from god. By your own choice. I don't really think there is a place where there is some lake of fire that causes eternal torment. I don't think god would bother with the upkeep and maintenance on a place like that.

In the book "The Great Divorce" by C.S. Lewis (same guy who wrote the Narnia books). He describes hell as a big, dingy, boring city where nothing ever happens- it's always twilight, and everything is vaguely uncomfortable. Even in hell, there is a bus that leaves for heaven every day. All you have to do is get to the center of town to catch the bus. But most people are too "busy" to bother with it - and the longer you live there, the less likely you will be to catch the bus. People like Hitler and other mass-murderers live WAY out on the edge of town and just can't find the time to go get on the bus.

Sorry this is so long. I highly recommend the book though.

how do you expect to pick a best answer from this question? At least ask for justification from responders.

No, I do not believe in hell as a place where you go to suffer for all eternity, but there is a Hell Michigan, and I have reasonable justification for this belief. Look it up.

No, human psychology created a split in the after life. We see things in bad and good, it's HUMAN opinion. In nature, there is no such thing, in fact in science, there is no such thing as bad or good. We just label it so it can appeal to our human mind. Like nicotine harming our bodies. We always have labeled it bad. Here's an example of how we label things as evil and bad:

Murder is something that causes pain and psychological pain toward the relatives of the victim. So we see it as a bad thing. Simple as that.

NOW, if God is divine as described by the Christians, then wouldn't he be smart enough to see there is no bad and good and all is equal? No positive or negative.

I believe that in this universe, there is nothing mystical. I believe that the we'll regenerate in another universe (a possible after life or reincarnation, but I don't believe in reincarnation of this world, since we haven't proved it, yet. So if we reincarnate somewhere else because of a universe's wacky physical laws, then that place should be the after life since it's not our world anymore). But you could be patient, and wait, and die, and see what happens. BUT come back and tell us okay ;)

Yes. I had rather live my life so that I can avoid hell, than to live my life as if there were no hell, and to find out too late that there WAS a hell.

Hell? what do you mean? a place of pain and despair? where the powers that be torture the innocents? a place of hunger and privation, where nothing is right and proper, where life means nothing? where rage and anger rule the day, and the nights are filled with fear?

do i believe in it? let me ask you a question: do you have a local newspaper where you're at? radio? television?

believe in it? i live in it.

mormons don't really believe in hell, so to speak... we call it outer darkness. But it's only for people who commit one of the 3 unforgivable sins. we believe in levels of exaltation, and the lowest one is the telestial kingdom, and it is still more glorious than anything anyone can imagine. so the ones above that must be freakin awesome.
