You need to get a friend to send you a "Invite" from their existing Gmail account in order to get an account. Or you can get one through your cellphone following their instructions found at www.gmail.com. If you like, email me your email to bqm1234@yahoo.com and I can send you an invite from my gmail account.

You have to be invited by someone who already has a gmail account.
In other words find a buddy who has a gmail account and ask him/her to send you an invite.

Seriously, you DO NOT have to be invited anymore, you can, but you can also be invited by texting a message. Look on the right hand side of the screen.
