I am over 40 and here are my suggestions.Don't dress in too-tight,too revealing clothes.Don't wear too matronly-styled(too baggy) clothes, either.Stay away from too -short dress and skirt lengths;to the knee is as short as you can go. And don't wear too-short shorts.Dressing too young is called "Mutton dressed as lamb." You generally don't want to do head- to -toe fad dressing. Forget about body piercings;one hole in each ear is enough. At age 40 and over, you are going for elegance, quality and timelessness.Your wardrobe should be classic with a few seasonal-fashion touches . Really big totes are in season;get a tote that fits the needs that you have.Big-framed sunglasses are in style;go for a slightly larger-sized frame that fits your face shape and size.Vogue magazine often has age-dressing tips.More magazine is great for ladies 40 and over who want to be stylish but not ridiculous looking. The book 40 over40 by Brenda Kinsel is also a good reference tool.

Dressing in too-tight,too-bare fashions can often have an aging effect on a woman,so going for body-skimming,not body hugging or body hiding fashions is a good start.

Depends on the woman, her body style, coloration, etc. But one of my personal favorites to see a woman wearing is a slit skirt. (I could watch her legs playing peek-a-boo all night) Provided she has the legs for it.
