Should COPS chase people in stolen cars, etc. or should they let them go?It seems like there is more damage done chasing them.What do you think?

If they didn't chase, there would be no COPS show. In some cases chases are waranted. They go to heavy populated areas and cut out and show only the most exciting stuff. For every chase scene I am sure there are ten to twenty boring scenes you never saw.

So you want the criminal to get away had possibly break into your home. Assault you, your mom, sisters, and kill everyone in the house?
What if the police don't know but they also have hostages? The theory that the police just let the criminals get away is shortsighted because what if it's your family. What if they can prevent your death by chasing the criminals.
We can't have a society if we let criminals run free. If the police didn't chase the criminals then the same people that do complain that the police didn't try to stop the criminals.

I think u have to catch them NOW cause if there willing to run .. they might be wanted for more than just that car theft mabey they killed someone and will kill again if there not stopped...think if the cops just stop , let them go ...it would tell oter pucks just run and they wont chase us..encouraging that behaviour and if they get away and then say go kill someone next week in a robbery, id rather tham apprehended or shot down before they hurt any wone else in the potential future of there lives.....could be me or my family next ..so chase down and take'em in or put them down before they do it to someone else ....my opinion.

I am not a COP so I have no clue. But they should chase an expensive car...

For minor crimes they should let them go. Too many innocent bystanders can get hurt because of police chases.

well if the ppl whos car gets stolen, as long as they have insurance, they should have no problem, and plus, they sorda need a recovery of the car, in what ever condition to file claims on insurance.

Why don't you take a ride with a cop for one day or night and see what they have to put up with.

I say chase them on helicopter and blast them with a rocket launcher.
