The people bought airline rickets (4) for over $4000. How did they get my acct #? I am very careful, didn't lose the card or give out any info. My bank is acting like it's no big deal--but I have $20.00 to last me until the investigation ends! Hello--I have bills due on the 18th! Can I sue the bank? I asked them for a temporary interest free loan, but they don't do that--they just give away my money!!!! The bank is Fifth Third Bank. Do I have any recourse/ have talked to customer service today and even went to the bank to talk to the manager, but still n money was returned to me. I AM THE VICTIM HERE!

Some people have no life. They will steal from you with no remorse. Fifth Third Bank? Which is it lol?

Rhoda - Fifth Third has to do their investigation before they just hand over $4,000 and they are legally within their rights to do so. In fact, legally, they don't have to give you the money back if there is not proof of fraudulence on the account. There are tons of people every day who contact their bank and claim that someone accessed their account when, in reality, the owner of the account is lying. So, no, you cannot sue the bank.

If you are contacting the regular customer service number or just going into your local banking center, they can't help you either. You need to contact the Bank Protection Department immediately at 1-800-927-0395 Monday–Friday from 8 AM–6 PM ET. Explain your situation in detail. They should be able to assist you.

Good Luck.

hmm i'm wondering how actually e-shopping works cause i helped my parents purchase airline tix a few weeks back. I entered my mum's visa card number and the expiry date and the last 3 digits on the back of the card. Eevrything went fine but how actually sure that none (h4x0rs, operators of the airline com, etc/) is tapping the information?
I have no idea how a debit card works but maybe u can borrow $$ from your friends or family and wait for the 60 days investigation. Usually the bank will reimbursed the lost funds to you if they found out if there is any flaw in their systems etc, if not its a plain goodbye to your $$$ = /. Er try to keep everything black & white too.
