That means, you won't be using any electricity in the winter.
If your garage is dry, and not prone to snow drifts, you should be fine. But, in the winter, your meat is going to be really hard-frozen.
When I was a kid, we used to hang meat in the garage in the winter - without a freezer. Good Gawd, who needed one - it was cold enough to keep everything solid frozen until spring....

It should be fine. Today's appliances are so well insulated that the exterior temp really does not effect the operation. As long as it is not exposed to weather elements such as rain/snow, you should have no problem with locating a freezer in an unheated area.

I know a few people that keep freezers in the garage and has never had any problems with them, should be o.k.

Alot of people have seperate freezers in their garages. That's where they are suppose to go. I have one in mine.
