Could be your linkage. Confirm your linkage is moving correctly. If it is and you still have no park or reverse, you may want to drop the pan and take a look. If you have chucks of metal in the pan, chances are you might have to rebuild it with new parts.

sounds like your linkage needs some work. take a look underneath but make sure you block the wheels first. try and unhook it from trans and see if you can twist the gear selector on the trans by hand if not drop your trans pan and look for the gear selector rachet mechanism and see if it has something jammed in it or if it is broke. should be very easy to see and tell if messed up.

TRANNY IS PROBABLY GOOD STILL JUST GEARS IN IT maybe out of place. can be fixed. but be sure to check and see if there are metal shaving in it from gears grinding.

what year is it? is it electronically controled - could be shift solenoids or valve body any number of things - you need more info before you spend the $ to replace it.
