I live in Chicago and I think the Mets are the most exciting team in baseball. They have a trio of young stars in Wright, Reyes, and Beltran, not to mention a 40 some year old pitching like he's 25 again. Unlike the Yankees, who try to buy championships, the Mets have earned the right to compete for one by using players from their farm system (i.e., Wright, Reyes).

NEW YORK YANKEES are the best baseball team in New York City, hands down!! Look at the World Series Titles. Plus, The Yankees have been in New York City since 1903!!
I am originally from Long Island, New York. But now live near Harrisburg, P.A. I'm still a New Yorker and will always be. And as far as I know all my friend from High School from Long Island, Loves the Yankees!! You would find more Met fans in Queens and Brooklyn (then again Brooklyn as far as I remember is half & half)
But to answer you overall question: THE YANKEES ARE THE BETTER TEAM!!

I always prefer the National league teams as I am from Houston and follow the Astros. I always like the Mets except when they play the Astros ('86).
My prediction is that the Mets will win the East this year with the Braves as the wild card. The other division winners will be the Cardinals and the Dodgers.

i live in ohio(since 1976, grew up in new jersey) and have been a lifelong mets fan. i have despised the yankees ever since the early years of george stienbrenner being the owner.
i am so looking forward to the mets making the playoffs and the yankees not!(how sweet it will be!)

I agree to some extent. But the Yankees do have some young exciting players like Melky Cabrera, Andy Phillips and Robinson Cano (last years should have been rookie of the year)
