Let him know how you feel.... He may not realize you have those kind of feelings for him. But you need to realize that if you start to actually date him, you may lose him as your best friend if you break up. Will that be worth it?

Give it time, especially if you are still young.
Appreciate the sweetness of platonic friendships.
Those last longer than romantic ones, until you find the right person anyway.
So just enjoy him and it may turn into something more in the long run. Be patient and don't push it if he hasn't given you any signals. I really miss my old guy friends. You don't find a good one every day, so remember that. You wouldn't want your friendship to be ruined or weird if the relationship didn't work out.

Let time run its course, you don't say how old you are or how long you been friends for. maybe he has a wild seed to sow still before he sees his true love in you, if that is the case, continue to live your life and take each day as a new begining, my dad always says to me with everyday paints a new picture.

What does he say? You need to talk to him. If he says that you should just be friends, then you probably will always be friends. If he says anything else, you might have a good chance.

got the same problem... i dont think it'll work out... i haven't got a descent coversation with my next door neighbor for years... maybe because we both have this awkward feeling towards each other... you're lucky!!!
