teflon tape may work but just un- do the joints and take the rings out and to the depot and match them and then refasten the parts .or take the whole parts from the joint to the tail pipe or drop from the sink and then replace the whole plastic kit its like 5or 6 dollars new for a kit you may need a hacksaw and a piece of sandpaper to smooth the ends and also if you replace just the rings sand the ends of the pipe parts to make them smooth and a better fit

first don't use any kind of tape they have what is called plumbers putty and this is what is used, second the plastic ring has a flat side and that goes up under the sink basket and taper should fit in drain pipe for it to seal, put the putty only on threads under sink turn titer your done, check for any leaks if one found ti ten little more till no leaks.

It sounds like sheer insanity to erect a development on properly suited of a public sewer, yet stranger issues have occurred. in spite of the indisputable fact that, the loan lender knows there's no situation in spite of the indisputable fact that it needs you to insure against it - a look after. The coverage organization knows there's no situation that's why the value is minimum - all earnings. Pay the single-off value and finished the deal - and anybody's satisfied - even me and that i do no longer stay there.

You need to get some Teflon tape at your local hardware store. It is white and very thin, put a couple of rounds and tighten. It will solve your leaking.
Good luck!
