World History questions please help?

a. What was the immediate cause of the war in Europe?
b. List three reasons why the Soviet Union successfully resisted German attack.

a. The attack of Poland by Germany, Bringing France and UK into it cuz' of a pact they had with Poland.

b. 1. They had millions more Army, or Civillians just give um a gun and send them to fight the invaders of de Motherland. 2. Hitler goofed and sent his tanks south before Moscow was taken.
3. Hitler supplied his troops only with summer clothing. Big mistake.

This could have been a huge victory for Germany, but it went the opposite way because of Hitler mainly. He delayed the whole operation to punish a revolution he could have put down later instead of delaying his attack.

b. Weather, Resources (tacks, ect.), and timing (looking back the time they were attacking the russians brits militery were just devistated but their attack on russia gave us the time we nedded to regroup.
