When I was a student pilot, my flight instructor and I were flying from McAllen, TX back to Harlingen,TX. We spotted a small tornado below and to the right of us about five miles. We watched it for several minutes and reported it to the Flight Service Station in the area. It even made the news that night. That was in 1967.

I live in Fl, last year the worst hurricane to hit my area was Willma. We were inside with our electricity down, and all of a sudden we hear this horrible loud sound. We look everywere and then outisde and der was a tornado now going into my neighbors house, we wacthed it as her house was ripped apart (she was thankfully not there). when it started aiming our way and ripping apart our roof we ran for cover. It didn't hit us, but it was so scary to think it was coming our way, and the sound is not like any thing else you'll ever hear. Our got really messed up and we had trees down...it was such a mess.
