When you rub one against your front teeth, a real one feels slippery, sort of like a stone and hard and kind of icey. A fake one feels like plastic, even a funny taste and has a softer feel to it.

the old trick is rub them against your teeth (or look at them with a magnifying glass) if they are perfectly round and no little bumps - they are fake. real pearls are not perfect.

If you rub them against your teeth and they feel gritty, they're probably real. If they're smooth, they're fake.
