Do what I did.

I believe a lot of people wanted justice after an emotionally powerful event, 9/11, the murder of a loved one, etc.

I figure is someone killed oner of my children, I would hunt that person down like an animal and kill him in a suitably horrible way. Doesn't make it right, but it satisfies a primative need.

Maybe there will be a time when we can truly forgive the worst transgressions. Thousands of years of religion has not brought us to that level. It may even be self defeating. A disease to the body or to a society must be destroyed. Wanting to kill bad people seems like a natural reaction, though it may not necessarily be a righteous reaction.

Yes. Killing people is always bad.

There's a big difference between justice and revenge. Revenge tries to cancel harm by bringing more harm, which is stupid.
True justice is about bringing harmony, about making the "bad person" change his mind, or at least about attempting to bring greater retribution and understanding.

Then again, I do realize that sometimes that can be very hard. Rage can blind us and turn us again into animals. Hell, I went to see "Lord of War" to the movies the other day, and I swear I would have probably killed the character played by Nicholas Cage without giving it a second thought myself.
But that's just not right. Everybody deserves a second chance, we must always try to ensure that sanity prevails. We are humans, after all, and not animals.

Remember, revenge is not justice. Justice is about harmony and order, not about making more damage.
Besides, who are you to determine if someone's bad or not? That's what the criminal justice system is for, even with its flaws.

Is there no other way of solving the problem other than killing? If your killing people that would otherwise kill many people like a terrorist or serial killer or the like then I'm not so sure....You will have to take that up with God. I have asked God that question before. Being brought up as a Catholic I use to wonder if I would go to hell if I had killed someone like Hitla or would it be a bigger sin to let an evil person like that live. Which is the lesser of the two evils?....God still hasn't given me a straight answer :-)

i suppose it's alright if bad people die but if they die in your hands, then it's wrong. nobody has the right to take someone's life away regardless if they are good or bad human beings.

I guess you should think about it this way...is it your right to judge whether someone is bad or not. How bad are they? What determines whether they should die or not?
