Some e-mail programs allow you to request a read-receipt in the settings, most free e-mails like Yahoo mail doesn't offer it though. Outlook express has an option to request them. But if the receiver has outlook express or another e-mail that lets them block return receipts then they won't be sent back to you at the time they read them and you won't know anyway. You are better off using regular certified mail for important things you want signed for through the postal service.
