Ever since I went to the beach I've had a cold. Now, I can't go to sleep, because I can't breathe out of my nose. If I try to breathe with my mouth I'll choke. I know I have issues. Anyways, I have to get up 30 times an hour! Every 2 minuets! I've counted. I can hardly breathe right now. I'm taking my medicine, but it's not kicking in too well. Have any tips?

I've tryed to stick tissue up my nose, but it only works for about 15 minuets. So, do you have any good tips that can help me sleep at night instead of being embarrassed, because I fell asleep in a public bathroom.

Vitamin C will slow down or even stop a runny nose. I take 500 to 1000 mg during a bad cold, but you need to check with a doctor before consuming this much C.
If you take too much C you can get a stomach upset as well as BAD diarrhea.
"High doses of vitamin C at the beginning of a cold has only been shown in some cases to reduce the severity of the symptoms to a modest degree, due to a mild antihistaminic effect."

The more you blow, the more that comes out. Trust me, that is what my mom and sister told me once but I didn't listen. The snot was running down my face. But then I got a nosebleed that didn't stop for 6 hours.
You have to try to find a way to make it stop running. Pinch your nose lightly with a kleenex instead of blowing it. I know you won't be able to breathe, but at least you will be able to get to sleep, and the snot can drain down your throat. Then you can use Breathe Right strips which really help with colds when you need to sleep.

You need the stuff your parents put on your pillow when you are a baby and have a cold that comes in those brown capsules karvol. I still use it , it works really well. steam helps, the old head over a bowl of hot water remedy, or a facial sauna put eucolyptas oil in the water, it clears your nose. Do it before you go to bed.

I can tell you what I do, I take some small pieces of tissue paper and stuff in both sides of the nose. WORKS wonders. I don't have to get up to replace the pieces until morning.

Take a really hot shower before you go to bed, or drink some steaming hot tea. The steam from either should help clear your nasal passages.

Roll a pillow up like a tube and put it under your neck. Lay on your back unless you have post nasal drip and your in trouble. If you do try laying high up with pillows to support your back and head. Kinda like your sitting up.

Either vapor rub or you can sleep on your back. It doesn't stop all the way but it's not as runny as if you sleep facing down.

Treat it to dinner, maybe some drinks by candle light, some romantic music... who knows where things will progress...
Oops.. sorry.
