Skip Priceline.. use hotwire.com.
They tell you the exact price plus the star rating.
I usually get the crown plaza and pay 1/2 of what the rack rate is

priceline is a good place to name your own price...you might not care for what they give you though. i haven't been unhappy with hotels, rental cars or flights yet so i go there whenever i travel
