Yes, you *may* have signs of pregnancy any time after about a week past ovulation (which can be up to 5 days after the sex that *got* you pregnant). Following sex (if you are approaching ovulation), sperm are pulled up to the Fallopian tubes; they can live up to 3-5 days in the female body. If you ovulate during the time they are there, the egg may be fertilized. It takes about a week for the fertilized egg to make its way down to the uterus to start to implant. Before implantation, the fertilized egg is not attached to your body in any way, so it can't cause physical changes in your body, but it could happen before you miss your first period.

Yes! My body works just as well as a pregnancy test. I started to get symptoms of being pregnant around 5 days after conception. I developed blue veins on my breasts, and started to become a little more tired.

I didn't have any more symptoms until I got a positive pregnancy test, and then I had all of the symptoms by the time I was six weeks pregnant.

Hope I could help!

I'm going to include the link to a trying to conceive and pregnancy forum. It's full of supportive women with boundless knowledge about these issues. I learnt so much there that I doubt I would have learnt otherwise. I hope you sign up!

The "signs" are caused by increased progesterone, the same hormone that gives you PMS. IMO signs are a lot of hooey, the only real sign is a +ve test.

Generally the signs are the thing that drives you to take a pg test. They are there to forewarn you of pregnancy: like sore breasts, missed period etc. If you are getting the signs then you would know there is a likelihood that you are pg.

Yup, but unfortunately they feel almost exactly like PMS if you get symptoms before your period...I get sore breasts, bloating, dizziness, and extreme fatigue before I get my period and that's exactly the way I felt when I was pregnant...the only difference was I had loss of balance when I was pregnant.
