It sounds like you've been pretty disheartened by life. Now you need to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and make a decision that you are now in control of your own destiny...which you are!! You need to allow your mind to take you to places you've never been. Most people are programmed to subscribe to the 45 year plan, where you get a job at 20, work until you're 65 to build someone else's business and then retire because that is the magic age!
You don't need to do that anymore. Get yourself a home business that you can build while you are earning an income out of the home...you still need to pay your bills. Once you have started building, you will have residual income which will keep coming in even when you can't always be there to work it! Once you have replaced your income, which doesn't take as long as you think, you can then quit making other people rich by your efforts and start making yourself rich!
Make a list of your dreams, set goals, and get to work achieving them...you are only limited by your imagination so let it have the chance to tell you what it wants!
Join a company that offers unlimited training and support, low start-up cost and a product in demand. Incidently, this product is very helpful for depression. I am a living example of how you can make your dreams come true!

This really two separate questions. The answer to the first - the meaning of life - is answered in a 1983 Monty Python movie. If you haven't seen it, rent it now.

As to the second part - if you're waking up and making money for someone else, you're doing it because you're choosing to. If you want to make money for yourself... as the Nike ads say - just do it. Sell something to somebody. Nobody's stopping you... except perhaps you.

To find the answer for "meaning of life" we need to work for ourselves. But before we figure that out, we work for somebody else who give us a penny or two out of mercy.
