Everyone will say American Idol, and that's because... Uh, yeah, it's a good idea. It definitely gets you publicity if you can get on the show, even if you don't win, lots of people watch the show, and everyone has their favorites. But if you're as great as you think you are, you may be able to get far. Who knows.
If you don't want to bother at least trying out for Idol, I don't know, just sing in any place that has an open mic night, or try to land a job performing for somewhere.

You definitely wouldn't have to ask that question if you were really that great of a singer. You must be 10, or something... Try American Idol so Simon and the others can make fun of you on national television and give you a reality check.

I wouldn't go on American Idol. From what I've heard, it seems that the best singers don't actually get picked. Try finding some kind of a company that you can try your voice out on.

Two words: POP. IDOL.
(or substitute word 'pop' for country of your choice).
Its a long hard road - feel free to look people like Kelly Clarkson and Guy Sebastian for inspiration.
Alternatively, start busking on street corners. You'll probably make more money to start off with that way, and you'll avoid the self-esteem-destroying and personal-dignity-shattering comments of the judges. On the other hand, you may be beaten to death by pissed off passers by. But its a risk you'll have to take, I suppose.

in case you're like me, you understand that the secret to 'getting back' into volleyball magic is to improve your vertical leap. that's the place the flexibility of the serve is. Vertical leap - and Dig. you besides would would desire to make stronger your leg muscle mass - especially the leg joints, calves and ankles -- observed by using the top physique and palms. Volleyball is an all-physique game and not something like a solid work out for the finished physique to get into the spirit.

start singing everywhere, u never know where theres a talent agent. Open mic nights are good, and check out the local cafe.

everyone is going to say american idol but dont do that, you sell away your soul (so to speak) when you sign up... i dont know any way to become shupa famous, but not american idol... seriously
