I am 8 wks pregnant today and last night I had some light pink spotting. My Dr's appt. isn't for another 10 days. He told me that the spotting is normal as long as it isn't bright red. I am also very big around my tummy area for being only 8 wks. I was reading online that mothers of twins had early spotting and period-like cramping early in pregnancy. I am already in maternity clothes and I am incredibly tired. This is my first child, so I don't really have anything to compare to. My main complaint is the cramping, which isnt' terrible, just annoying. I have stopped spotting as of late last night, but just wondering if that could be a reason why? I am really just trying to set my mind at ease.
Thanks for any help or comments you might have!

I think that the spotting is nothing to worry about unless it's bright red like blood. So don't stress about that...the cramping is normal and might last a couple months so I would try whatever pain medicine your doctor says is ok (doctors are different). As for the expanding belly....you could be retaining water, or it's possible that you have more than one in there...is your belly hard, or soft? feel 4 inches bellow your belly button and see if it's hard...if it is then it could be your uterus. But being tired is really common for your first trimester...but you didn't say anything about nausea so that's nothing untill you get morning sickness.

The spotting and cramping could be your baby finding their home (implantation of the egg in the uterus). This should let up in a couple of days. Each pregnancy is different.

Are you thin? Some women show much sooner than others, epically if you are thin. Some women start retaining water and that can cause you to swell a bit.

Congratulations and best of luck - you'll do great!!!!

I'm 7 weeks too, and I feel your pain. I can see myself in maternity clothes in a couple of weeks. i take tylenol for the cramping, and haven't even considered the possibility of twins.
