first a normal papsmear means that you don't have abnormal cells on your cervix, it dosn't test for fertility OR stds the test for stds is a seperate one but can be done at the same time as a pap if you request it.
I also need to point out pap tests cannot test for high risk HPV (thats the one that causes cancer where low risk causes worts) that is done with a specialised test called an HPV DNA test and they are not normally done unless you have had several bad paps. they also require a visit to a specialist it is not something that is done in the FP office

A pap smear is not a fertility test. You need to see a specialist for fertility testing. They will take some eggs and do specific tests on them. Then, you will know your ability to conceive. A pap smear is not going to tell you that.

That means that your cervix is healthy that really doesn't have anything to do with fertility. Your doctor can run some tests on you and your partner to verify your fertility though.
The pap smear takes cells off of the cervix and tests them for the STD that causes cancer--HPV. The cervix is just the opening to your uterus that really only comes into play after you have gotten pregnant. What you are really looking at is your ovaries and eggs and uterus when it comes to fertility.

A woman can't really determine how 'fertile' she is. She is either fertile, or she isn't. Some women who don't conceive after a year of trying, are told that they aren't ovulating. Most are prescribed the drug Clomid to stimulate the ovaries to release an egg.
A man can get a sperm count done, to determine how often he should have sex in order to conceive quickly. A man with a high sperm count should have sex once a day for the best chance of conceiving, and a man with a lower sperm count should have sex every 2-3 days to give his sperm time to replenish itself.

One has nothing to do with the other. I've always had normal pap smears, for 2 years I ovulated and had good timing (& good sperm), hormone levels perfect and still not pg. Surgical investigations showed I have a birth defect - deformed & missing organs, and severe endometriosis. Never would have known without surgery.

A pop smear tells if you *might* have cancer or something that could *become* cancer. It has *nothing* whatsoever to do with fertility. It also only checks the cervix; fertility is usually related to your internal organs that can't be reached, such as your Fallopian tubes and ovaries.
