I think that it is encouraging them to have sex. If they want to have sex they can have the innitiative to go out to a health clinic to get free condom or even buy them. I still believe sex should be done when you are old enough and ready, so handing them out earlier to students promotes having sex earlier... This is only my opinion though.

No, I don't think giving out condoms promotes sex. It gives kids that didn't have the opporntunity to have safer sex the chance to do so. The Armed Forces recruited at my high school, it didn't change the fact that I wasn't joining the military. It just gave me options.

It send the message that sex is an acceptable practice for teenagers. Condoms have a failure rate of about 15%. I should know I was blessed with my youngest daughter when my wife and I had to resort to condoms.

Protection is always best. I am all for it. Too many kids dont use condoms and end up with either unwanted pregnancies or an STD.

I don't think they should be handed out, but they should be readily available so if someone is sexually active they can get one.
