remember, cross country is more than just running a good time, you are running against a lot of other people. It doesnt matter what time you get, just what place you come in. Its a big mental game. find out what strategy works for you.
do you like to get our front early and stay there? If you dont kick well, you should set a faster pace and stay out front.
do you like to hang behind the leaders and out sprint them at the end? If you have a good kick you should do this. but watch out for rabbits - some teams will send out people with a really fast pace early to burn out other runners, but they cant keep up that pace and may not even finish.

Cross nation is mainly probably the most amusing recreation in top college. You will meet such a lot of new peers and the races are so amusing. Don't fear approximately your instances. The extra you run and greater you are going to get. I wasn't a distance runner till my freshman yr. It takes tough paintings and train however it is most likely valued at it. I might not ever describe move nation as hellish. It's amusing to run with peers and more commonly we are joking round which makes it move via plenty quicker. You will have to do it for certain!!!!

before your practices start get in shape by going running...when you run keep you arms down at your sides & keep your hands loose..it is easier to breathe. when you run up hills dont lean over, keep your body straight and use your arms to help you. when your running down hill dont put force on your knees trying to stop. just run and put your arms out for balance. if the next course you are running at has mostly hills, practice doing hills, if its mostly flat practice on flat ground.
