Ahh i got it i understand u say can not be formatted on disk as hard drive Bec U are using windows.. u need to get win 98 Or me or 2000 or XP cd rom and put cd in ur cdrom then restart ur computer then boot up the cd boot up to get win 98 startup u enter yes with cd support and setup or etcs and u want to format u say Yes then reinstall the win etcs that is ur answer ur questions. i m computer tech A+

Assuming it is a floppy disk, look on the back. In the upper left hand corner is a little plastic tab you can slide up or down to open or close a hole in the floppy. If the hole is open, you can not write to or format the disk. Move the tab to close the hole.
If the hole is already closed, or once closed you still can not format the disk, the disk itself is probably bad. Try a different disk.
