He has no choice. At this point, Blair showing anything less than 101% support for the police would completely destroy their credibility. We'd see attacks on officers, and perhaps even large riots.

Best thing to do is to publicly smooth relations between police and public, while privately trying to sort out the gigantic mess the police force is obviously in.

yes he was right. to many officers though, in todays climate i suppose they must take every so callled reliable information seriously, as if something did happen the police would get criticised for doing nothing, its a no win situation with the police, if they do a raid and nothing comes of it they are criticised and if something tragic happens they are criticised for it,

Of course he must back them.

yes i think he is right , innocent or not there must have been something going on for them to act the way they did , they dont just pick a name and say right lets go get them for no reason , wise up !!!!
