My husband is a control freak who thinks that everything has to go according to his plan, and that no other plan is right. Even if he is told that there is a better way to do things and is presented with evidence, he is so stubborn that he will never admit that he could have been wrong, and that I am right! Now, don't get me wrong, he is a good man, takes care of me and the kids, and our home. It's hard to find any faults with him except this one. How do I deal with this for years to come? We are newlyweds, only married for four months now. I really do love him, but I'm sad that his ways will not and cannot change. Help me please...

no, I am the control freak in the family...it is a heavy burden to be the only one who knows everything, how to do everything perfectly, how food should taste, how children must be raised...a very heavy burden. I need a break, but I am afraid that everything will go wrong the minute I give anyone about me a chance to run the show...it will be a mess that will take me minutes to unravel.

No. Neither my husband or I are control freaks, we make all descisions together and respect each others opinions on the matter. However, My mother-in-law is an extreme control freak, but thats a whole new can of worms...LOL I suggeat marriage counseling NOW before it goes on too long and the damage to your relationship is beyond repair. Best of luck to you both. If you both really want it to work, and are willing to do the neccesary work to fix it, it will all work out fine.

He will never change! My husband and I are both control freaks. We are in the process of divorce. 12 years didn't change a thing. No one gives in.

Both of you need counceling right now. I know he won't go so just get the marriage dissolved.
Marriage is a union between adults. He can not be the one in control all the time. It must be the both of you.

He probably was a control freak when you was dating him, he haven't change and probably not going to change. I think this is a male issue thing, most think they are right about everything but they are not most of the time.

Well, lots of people are like that, my friend for example, you should do some community service and make sure he understands that what you say is what you MUST do. I do't know if that will work, but I'm trying it out on my friend on .06.08.06

WELL, YOU MARRIED THE MAN. AND EVERY ONES GOING TO HAVE FAULTS. SO YOU JUST HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT, YOU SAID THIS IS THE ONLY FAULT HE HAS, EVERYTHING ELSE IS PERFECT WITH HIM, SO WHATS YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL, TO MAKE HIM FLAWLESS. YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM AS HE IS, NOT THE MAN YOU WOULD LIKE HIM TO BE.
