What should I charge? Hourly? I would be babysitting in my home.

$25.00 per day (8hrs.) if the child is kin to you $35.00 if no kin plus all expenses ( food supplies etc. )

call the day care centers around your town and find out what they would charge based on 40 hours... charge only half of that if you are not licensed.... more discounts if the child will be sleeping ( like mom works 3rd shift, so you "babysit" at night when child sleeps) ... figure in if you have to provide meals... even though they dont eat and drink much... but still if they eat two meals and two snacks per day at your home that can put a damper on the grocery budget too....

Since, presumably, you are doing this in lieu of that child going to a structured center ... then you will probably want to charge $250 or so a month (about 1/2 what a preschool would charge).

Don't know what the rate for in home sitting is, but day care runs about $100 weekly here in Mich

I would say call a few daycares in your area and see what they charge and go from there. I would charge by the week, not the hour.

I charge 7.00/hour for a sitter to watch my 4 kids. Looking at the minimum wage average, I think it is fair enough.

Hey, I am looking for a job, a job and I live in Jersey, I would charge as much as possible. But probably about 250 dollars a month, plus gas money if they take your child out somewhere. idk too much.
