my husband is a very big believer in that theory. he has a collection of over 100 dragons. we always have debates about if they were real or not. any thing dragon he will buy if he has the money. needless to say we are running out of room to set them up. he will start having to keep the new ones stored or build on to our house

OK, I'm going to start off being a pedant, of course there are such a thing as dragons, have you ever seen a komodo dragon? They're dragons!

Right then, now for my REAL answer, YES of course I believe in dragons!!!!!!! What did St. George slay? A Dragon! What was one of King Arthurs fears? A fear of dragons! (actually I made that up). Dragons were and still are real, they live in caves well away from people, they are misunderstood, they don't really want to eat people, just be friends, but people kill them! Dragons won't show themselves to people for that very reason. I am right you know. AND I really am a fish!

Yes of course, Saint George killed a dragon and when King Arthurs sword got stolen by one of his knights of the round table, another knights daughter went to find it and saw a 2-headed dragon, and yeah Hercules and Greek myths were real, a faun tried to teach him to be a hero. But dinosaurs never existed really.

Job ch. 40 or so talks about fire breathing dragons who dwell in the depths of the sea, have airtight scales, long necks, and are invulnerable to all man made weapons at the time.

In Australia they have cave drawings of what could be a dragon or plesiosaur. Here in North America indian tribes have legends of Loch-Ness like monsters in their lakes. In China they also have legends of fire breathing dragons.

I believe dragons not only were alive then, but will be alive until Judgement Day.

I don't know if there were dragons in the middle ages, although in lore there typically are dragons and crap. But, in like, every culture, there is some sort of dragon in their stories. You can't help but wonder why this is such a common myth. Maybe it was once true?

Who knows. But no, I don't think they existed in the middle ages, or any semi-modern age.

Yes, totally possible. I saw this whole documentary about it on the history channel or something and they explained the possibility of wings, and how they can breathe fire and everything, but they probably wern't around during the middle ages, probably before the ice age and then they were killed off in the freeze, or they'd still be around.

No, I don't think so, but I do believe in unicorns. When I told my husband that, he asked me why they never find unicorn bones. I told him because that it is because they are magical creatures...duh.

But this will crack you up, the little girl next door (she's 4) told me that she knows that dinosaurs still live in the woods. When I asked her where she heard that, she told me "National Geographic". Then I told her about my belief in unicorns and she felt compelled to inform me that those were just make believe!

It's possible that there was some kind of lizard that they may have expanded upon for good story telling- maybe they had komodo dragons or something...the Loch Ness Monster? Anything is possible, although much is not probable...
