I do cakes for parties and decorations. Also I plan the parties and choose the food I cook myself for the menus. What do I need to start a serious job. Creativity is my strengh.

Its easy to start your business. Begin to keep pictures of your work to start a portfolio, also build your network food discount, places to purchase party items for reasonable prices, find those items and list the prices so that you will know the best value for you. Go to other events and look at what they use to boost your technique. When you do plan an event take pictures of the event for your book and have that person fill out a survey of your services so that you will know what went well and what didn't go well. Eventually you will have a booming business

You need a business license...contact your local court house to find out where to apply. Also, if you are making food you will need to have your work kitchen (the building in general) inspected and passed by the health department. After that you will need to make sure you are prepared to advertise, meet with potential clients with samples, ext. Good Luck.
