how do you delete files on your computer that simply won't be deleted?

i need to get rid of some files i have that are associated with limewire, so i can download it again, but they seem to be stuck - every time i click 'delete' it just says check it's not read-only or in use, and i've made sure about this but they still won't delete! what's the solution? ta muchly.

If you've uninstalled it and files remain, you probably need to reboot to get rid of the remaining files. They may well go away themselves. Saving you time and money.
