I, for one, am sick of one of those teams always in the playoffs.

I would absolutely love to see The Blue Jays win the East, and The Tigers take the wild card.

Are you with me?

p.s.:

If The Tigers dont go all the way, I'll be rooting for The White Sox>

little bling got it exactly right. These two have practically ruined baseball, especially for the small market teams who can't afford to go out and get your average free agent. And the suckups at ESPN play it up even more, because they're sandwiched inbetween the two of them.

As a White Sox fans, it sickens you when you hear Red Sux fans say they're proud of you winning the title last year because you broke your curse the same as the Red Sux did. Wrong. Chicago won their title by castoffs from other teams and home-grown talent; the Red Sux went out and bought a title.

The only rivalry in this country that comes close to being as overhyped as these two assclowns is Puke-UNC in college hoops.

...the Red Sox? Always in the playoffs? That's a new one. Are you new to baseball?

Here are some stats!

World Series titles (6) 2004 • 1918 • 1916 • 1915
1912 • 1903
AL Pennants (11) 2004 • 1986 • 1975 • 1967
1946 • 1918 • 1916 • 1915
1912 • 1904 • 1903

East Division titles (5) 1995 • 1990 • 1988 • 1986
1975

Wild card berths (5) [1] 2005 •2004 • 2003 • 1999
1998

So it's a pretty recent development, man. Red Sox fans are never going to get sick of it, we've been waiting far too long.

The Yankees though? Yeah. Way sick of them.

I think the Yankees and Red Sox have ruined baseball. I don't watch the first ten minutes of SportsCenter during baseball season, because I'm tired of them because of them being crammed down our throats. It's like the national media thinks that there are only two Major League teams and the rest of our teams are in some separate, secondary league. I am not a Blue Jays fan, but I hope they win the AL East. I'd like the Tigers and A's to win their divisions, too. But you know that, if they do, the national media will be complaining that there's no drama without the big two teams, and that the ratings will be down. It makes me sick.

Great question. The media has a tendency to take teams that are doing well and saturate the market with constant coverage. I'd love to see all teams get equal coverage. Put the Royals on Wednesday night baseball, even the Pirates. It would be better than watching Yankees/Red Sox 3 nights a week.

As for realistic playoff teams, I continue to pull for the Oakland A's. Small market team that somehow manages success year after year, but continues to just fall short.

Even as a Phillies fan, I feel the Red Sox/Yankees matchup, especially at Yankee stadium, produces some exciting games with weird twists. I'm an official Yankmee hater (deemed by my Yankee friends) and I don't like the Red Sox; or the American League for that matter.

It is a heated rivalry for a reason.

George Steinbrenner is willing to pay an arm and a leg and everything else he can pay just to get a good team into the playoffs. It is expected. No other MLB team comes close to the money that he spends every year. I think A-Rod alone has a higher salary than the entire Florida Marlins team.

Yes, I'd love to see other teams in the playoffs. As a Texas Rangers fan, I hope my boys take the West.

Amen, G.P. Last time I checked, championships are still decided in the World Series. A series in early June means next to nothing. The Yankees (for example, not saying I want it to happen) can sweep the season series against the Red Sox, but if they don't beat the N.L. representative in the World Series, it means squat.

Sorry you're sick of them, but there's no denying that these are the two most followed teams in baseball (sorry, Cubs fans) whose rivalry is among the most intense in sports anywhere in the world. This early in the season, though, I can understand your disinterest. Check back in October and see what people think!

Your right I AM getting pretty tired of it. My family and I are Tiger fans. Especially My dad and grandfather both are happy that the tigers have the best record in baseball history. I am too.

Any way I hate the Yankees, and i live in the Bronx, and why does the city have to help pay for a new stadium?
