For example, in book 6, snape is arguing with dumbledore in the woods about not wanting to do something, and dumbledore tells him that he has to do it. This tells me, or rather, leads me to believe that Snape did not want to kill Dumbledore, that he was trying to find another way to deal with Malfoy and reverse the pact he made with Malfoy's mother. I believe that Dumbledore did not die, but found another way to live on. I think Snape is still on the good side, and is a really good actor. For the argument about Dumbledore saying no to Snape right before Snape killed him, that was all part of the show. Now, I know this is going to get some bad reviews, but I can almost bet I am right, atleast part of the way, if not all of it. And if I am right, I should like win something or something.

I believe that Dumbledore IS dead. I certainly hope that Ms. Rowling isn't THAT cliche as to revive the "dead hero". Yeah, I shed a tear or two when I read that he was dead, but I hope that for the sake of the plot and the series, that he is truly dead.

However, I agree with you on the theory that Snape did not want to murder Dumbledore.

As for the next book, someone else close to Harry is probably going to die, his romance with Ginny will be brought up again and he will have to face Voldemort for the final time. Unless, of course, JK decides to surprise us with yet another sequel. X3

But Dumbledore DIDN'T say "no" to Snape, he merely said "Severus, please..." I agree that Snape is still on the side of good, but I disagree that Dumbledore will come back in a corporeal form. JK made it pretty clear that dead is dead (in fact, I'm pretty sure that passage was placed in the fourth book specifically referring not just to Harry's parents' deaths, but to Sirius and Dumbledore's as well), and while she's had plot twists in her books before, I do not think this will be among them. However, I do not think that we've seen the last of him, either. His portrait is in the headmaster's office, so I'm guessing he'll continue to communicate with Harry through it.

And there isn't anything in any of those passages to make me believe that Snape was acting. The look of revulsion on his face before he killed Dumbledore was genuine, but for an entirely different reason than we think, in my opinion. The revulsion was due to the fact that he didn't want to kill Dumbledore, and was hating himself for having to do it. This is also the reason he reacted so violently when Harry called him a coward; he had done the very thing he hadn't wanted to do, and at great risk to himself and others. So being called a coward (and by Potter, of all people), would rankle.

I think in the next Harry Potter book, Snape will go to the good side, well he was in the order of the phoenix, and besides Dumbledore is definetly not stupid and if he hired a death eater...... it just dosn't make sense. SPOILER WARNING: I also heard Harry Potter does die and so does Voldemort. Nevile becomes a teacher.

I think they should have a quidditch showdown between Harry Potter and Voldemort, you know, something like in the old western movies. Voldemort will get ticked off because 1) Harry is so much better at flying than he is, and 2) Voldemort's broom will rebel at having to carry him around and the broom will rise up by itself and beat Voldemort over the head with the bristles, and at least one bristle will break off and get stuck up his nose. Draco Malfoy's father will start snickering, and Voldemort will blush a violently angry shade of red and turn both Draco and his father into little purple mice (Draco's father will still have a long white mane of hair) who bump into each other and then lie confused on the forest ground like stunned cockroaches, waving their little furry feet in the air. Harry will concoct a spell that makes Voldemort start itching like a thousand fleas jumped on him, and he will scratch his own skin off, while Harry hides the world's entire supply of anti-itch Calamine lotion under his invisibility cloak. After everyone else congratulates him for his cleverness, I think Harry, Ron, and Hermione will decide 7 books is enough and take a well-earned vacation in Puerto Rico on the warm, white, sandy beaches, until the movie people track them all down (either that, or their fan clubs). I don't know if this will actually happen in Book 7, but it's an answer to your question.

All of what you posted I agree with. I 'd love to write a long essay on this question, but none of us here can possibly figure out what exactly will happen in book seven. Only the brilliant J.K. Rowling knows for sure ;-)
