what is the scientific term for the reason that people of different races can't or have trouble describing one another physically?
Like white ppl say that all asians look the same generally and asians say that black ppl all look the same and so on.

I'm not a racist I'm looking for the real term and im just talking about discribing the facial features.

RACISM (Learned Behavior). There is no scientific word, its plain old Racism, Racist Ideological practices, the revered notions of inherent hierarchy, the fallacy of superiority/inferiority among different ethnicities, that were violently and masochistically perpetrated upon the conquered and enslaved peoples. After centuries of its indoctrination through violence, genocide & every grotesque form of dehumanization imaginable it unfortunately germinated was and continue to be internalized by the oppressor and the oppressed.

"Race" is a social construct (birthed in the 18/19 century). It was a designation specifically linked to peoples in the colonial circumstances. It did not stand alone but worked simultaneously and concordantly with the ideology of inequality devised to rationalize European attitudes and treatments of the conquered and enslaved.

Everything that you see today is related to racism and its inherent injustices. It is not an excuse, it is not justification, it is simple fact.

This is a society of labels, where a person is not seen as a human being first but rather a colour, or perceive "race". Most people cannot seem to see people beyond the "supposed" imposed labels. Today people are still being defined by their imposed category. Example, An author of African descent is not simply an author rather he is a “Black” author and any acclaim that he/she is to get will be attributed to his/her colour and all his/her hard work, determination and struggles is erased.

A person is not any one thing because of their ethnicity, colour of their skin, slant of their eyes, width of their nose, or texture of their hair rather he/she determinant is solidified in their character/choices.

They cannot discribe them because they do not see them only the label. In order to discribe a person you first have to recognize and identify them as such, it is only then you can disguise the difference.

Racism is learned behavior.
Racism is erasure.
They are not seen therefore they do not see each other.

I think when we are not used to seeing certain people, we look at them in general terms, not noting the distingishing features. Once we are submersed in that group, we can see the features of each individual.
I used to think Asians looked alike. Now, I live in San Francisco and have many Asian friends. I can appreciate that each individual is different.

I don't know how "scientific" this is but if you are unable to describe someone physically it is likely that your vocabulary is lacking.
