LOL! And they are all taking photos of the most random objects like bins, and chimanys. I has a jappanese friend, and I swear looking at his holiday photo album is about as interesting a reading the "devinite history of pokets!" every bin, phone box, chimany, shoping troley and crisp packet!

I worked with a group of Japanese in London for a few months, all very clever and polite people, and always very happy, try as I may there was no way I could ever get them angry.
They would just smile and do their little polite bow and say "yes San, no San, three bags full San!! and continue to smile.
I had to give up in the end, the Brits on the other hand were almost at my throat.
I would never have previously associated the Japanese with humour, but I think they are a great bunch of people.

Why shouldn't they??!!

You may not know it, but the average Japanese worker is lucky to get one whole week each year of continuous holiday time!! That is the ONLY chance they have to go abroad, so they have as good a time as they possibly can while they're there!!!

They are happy because they're packing a whole experience into that one week! Usually, Japanese tourists book tours for every day of their holiday, so that they don't waste a precious second of holiday time wondering where to go next!!

2. They are happy.
3. Their culture requires them to smile.
4. What's wrong with you? You prefer scowling people?

I think if you stayed out of New York and L.A. you'd be fine on this note.

The Japanese are required to be happy, well just culturally expected anyway. Insular culture and all. Most of them are tremendously miserable.

They are tourists. They are on holiday, having fun. Why shouldn't they be smiling? I'd be smiling if I was on vacation.

ln the Japanese culture,it is considered impolite NOT to smile....
You also have to cover your mouth with your hand while eating,to do otherwise is rude...

Try Saki. No honestly, they make me smile also. They hunt in packs and enjoy themselves. Don't be so miserable. :-)
