It theoretically could be done in two years. With prerequisites and competition for entry, people rarely are able to get it done in that time, however.

Usually three years at an accredited school of nursing associated with a hospital. If you wish to become a nurse teacher at a school you need a four year college nursing degree.

I know at my community college it's a year of pre-rec's and then 2 years in the actual program. Some community college have accelerated courses that will take you a year to year and a half if your already a LPN.
