A guilty consceince would be one reason, most racism is stemmed from prior events in ones life experience though, and as we all know ones perception is their own reality.

Yup, guilty conscience. Many people taught me, that we project onto others what we're most aware of in ourselves. People with ugly wrecked-up cars are the ones who are self-conscious of their cars and judge everybody else on the quality of their automobile. Or they are smart and don't give a damn what kind of car people drive, and treat all people with equality and respect. You can call this "us vs. them" thinking, or the "blame game." Whoever's doing it needs to change their perspective.
