Start by listing all the things that he is that are wrong for you. Your feelings of love are probably nothing more than infatuation. The perfect man has yet to be made as does the perfect woman. When you are done listing his faults start a list of the things you want in the next guy and the things you will not put up with. Now you have an idea of what you want make plans of how to get that guy. Change the places you go to and do not rush into anything. Good things take time. I changed my hangouts and met new people who showed me other ways to enjoy a night out. Nothing bad but something different than I was doing before. The right girl came along and we have been together a very long time without being married. Both of us are comfortable and take care of each other when things go wrong.

what helped me in that situation is when i first admitted to my self that i did love him, and that my love for him wouldnt change, then you have to tell yourself your better than the drama and other things that just werent good for you,, its a long process and will more than likely take a lot of chocolate to get over..lol. but be strong, if you need to cry a lil, then cry a lil, if your angry workout while blasting your music, pray, and keep on truckin, remember everything happens for a reason, there could be someone right now just waiting for that opportunity to be everything you need and more,.....keep your head up sweetheart

You have made the first steps in a very good way!
It does take time, keep going!
Everybody heals at their own pace.
Just do not contact him. Block your phones from calling him when you have been drinking (I have heard that you can do that). If he calls you do not answer or hang up.
It is good that you realized the relationship will not work! Keep it that way!

it looks to me like you're denying your love for him. work it out with him. be the mature one and hold the relationship down. if he's keeps being annoying on purpose, then he don't love you for real. maybe he's trying to do something for you to break up with him. analyze him; analyze yourself too: know what you want. drinking and talking bad about guys doesn't make any difference in your relationship.
