Name 3 positive things about Americans?

In my recent questions I've focused on the bad side of Ameicans, now I'm "switching sides". My own top three is: 1. A Gung-Ho sense of optimism. 2. Taking responsibility for their own actions. 3. A sense of humour about themselves and life in general.

1. Perseverance. 2. Open-mindedness. 3. Hard work ethic.

As far as #1, it is similar to your idea of Gung-Ho optimism. Americans never give up, no matter the odds. Americans tend to be open-minded towards other beliefs and cultures. While I realize some would counter that by pointing to racism, segregation, slavery, and the like, I also ask those people to look around the world and to try to find a society that is as diverse and as multi-colored as ours is. It is sad that many people have the idea that all Americans are nationalistic xenophobes. We do a pretty good job considering that we have so many different races, cultures and nationalities. Finally, Americans know that only hard work leads to success. Americans take fewer vacations and time off than people in other industrialized countires. We don't have siestas or early closing hours. Most Americans work overtime and many have more than one job.

OK I will give you that one I guess

NOT even close! There is always somebody else to blame (from your parents to immigrants).

Three positive things about Americans:

1. There's an ocean between them and most of the rest of the world, so they can't drive everywhere and annoy too many other people.

2. They will eventually be absorbed into some third-world country south of the border and then will be so dumbed-down that they will no longer be able to bomb the rest of the world into submission.

3. Approximately 15% of them still know what "spell check" means.

It's funny how people will point themselves out as the negative aspect of American society like bubles... Just thought it was funny, you know, speak for yourself. Also see It's me surp, Reema, and Maddy, do you not care for humans? Look up the word misantrhope. Many evil people just don't care about humans (Hitler, Osama, Saddam, etc.)
